Yep you have to copy the sig down like i have it on mine or misanthropes of fiz's. You then need to find a avatar or a sig pic of some kind that deals with the books if you can. The last thing choose either Cadre mage or Bridge Burner for starters when you get into the book you can choose a name you want to keep like i didSmile

Welcome Korakane, cool avatar, we look forward to discussing anything and everything to do with Malazan with you.

Yea Stee, perhaps a lifetime ban is a bit harsh. I'm sure they will come to their senses sooner or later.

It's ok. I'm still a fan of Steven Erickson's writings.

I am Kengo. I will not change my avatar. Nor will I add anything about "Hood's balls" to my sig! I don't really care for forum politics anyway.

btw, I loved the name Cadre of the Fallen. In fact, I would have joined if all I had to do was put that in my sig!

Otherwise why would I have joined the Cadre?

Besides, if it were about forum politics it would be so much dirtier, and probably less fun.

Kengo, my post was tongue in cheek, not meant to be taken seriously, just trying to have a little fun. I personally don't have a problem with you not putting the Hood's balls quote in your sig. This group doesnt have anything to do with forum politics it was started to help promote Steven Erikson and to hopefully gain him some new fans. As far as our recent duel with the CRS goes, its the same thing, just trying to liven things up a bit.Smile

exactly man^^. This was created so we could bring people like Korakane into the world of Malazan. To create new fans to the best work in Fantasy today. Kengo you dont have to put the Hood's Balls thing in your sig its just funny thats why we do it. ITs all over the books, its like the BridgeBurners number one curse!!
This place has gotten boring of late and we wanted to living it up with a little crazyness. Attacking the CRS was the fun thing and the unexpected thing to do.

And besides, even when I do finally get GotM (whenever the stupid library gets it), even if I don't think it is better than "Otherland" or "ASoIaF", or even "Farseer", it's still guaranteed to be 100% than all the other crap I have picked up lately.

But I can't rank it until I actually read it. It just sounds intriguing, and there's only once... okay, twice... where I've been recommended books that are crap. The first being Jordan, the second being Goodkind.

Two series that are basically crap. Erikson's is not i assure you. Gardens is a stepping stone for something far far larger Korakane. So dont be discouraged if Gardens is just OK. Deadhouse is phenominal and they just get better and better from there on.

I had the "meh" feeling with "Dragonbone Chair" and the first book of "ASoIaF" but that didn't make me stop reading either, and both series got so much better in their incarnations.

WooooT!!! Kengo is in.
As for the sig language - mine doesn't encompass the whole slogan, but I feel comfortable in claiming to fully be a part of the cadreLaughing

well, I think Kengo gets MAD props and a huge formal welcome to the cadre. He just "hijacked" a thread about Robert Jordan and made it about the Malazan series and Erikson - very very very well done indeed.Cool
