King Grub is reading:
Another 1000-page book in this seemingly never-ending series. This is starting to smell Jordan. And that ain't good.

Hey King Grub, did you read and finish THE DREAMER OF DUNE? What are your thoughts on it if you did finish it.

Yes indeed. It was tremendous. King Grub didn't know much about the man behind the books before, but this book was both insightful, enlightening and entertaining. Plenty of information about the great man himself, his life beside that of a writer, how and why he was inspired to write both the Dune books and others, and best of all, Brian's own tale of growing up as Frank Herbert's son. That part read almost like a novel in itself.
Highly recommended!

ewww, I read the first book or two in the Crown of Stars and then skimmed through the third very quickly to try and get some resolution only to find out it wasn't a trilogy. Haven't bothered picking up the fourth book. Though, the third book actually had some interesting stuff developing.

Right now I'm rereading Scions because I feel like I need to reread the Heritage series, but I was in the middle of read the Song of Ice and Fire series. I finished Clash of Kings and then couldn't go to the store for a while so I decided to pick up Scions because I was in desperate need of a book, then I went to the bookstore yesterday to get Storm of Swords, and come to find out that they won't get it until March! That just wasn't the thing I needed to hear. So I decide to get World of Shannara because I hadn't read it yet, but that didn't work out either. I went up and asked for them to find it for me because I wasn't having any luck. I looked all in the Brooks section and there was ever Brooks book except that one. So he goes to find it and the auther wasn't Brooks but some P name that I can't remember. More to the point, he couldn't find it after searching for 10 minutes and their computer showed that they had one. So I ended up leaving the store with NO book because I was so enfuriated I didn't even care anymore.
Well...I didn't actually intend to relay my trip to the bookstore yesterday, but oh well...

You might not care, Mouse, but I'm probably going to hold an E-Signing with Brian for THE DREAMER OF DUNE. Him and Kevin want to be part of the E-Signing thing and that book might be a good warm up for the release of the next Dune book in early fall.

^ Great book, you are in for a treat. Even my friend who doesn't like anything to do with Space... loved that book.
I just finished A clash of Kings, and am now going to read The BFG by Roald Dahl and then His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman while I await a copy of A Storm of Swords.

Well worth it, though. Andrew Vanbergen must be the best character ever. Funniest and quirkiest too, with his possums, contraband Weetabix and coffee machines.

Well, right now I'm reading A Knight of the Word by You-Know-Who. I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.k. Rowling a few days a go. A surprisingly good read.

Cool Grub, I didn't know a new Kate Elliott book was coming out.
I"m reading The Halfblood Chronicles by Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey.
Had anyone else read this series. I'm not real impressed by it and wondered if either of there other works was any better.
Be nice until it's time to not be nice....
