Does this type of stuff work? I'm going to assume that "liljim196" is Mr. Wilmsmeyer....one post, only here to start a thread and hype an unknown author?
If so, if anyone else needs a good tax attorney, feel free to call Spasticcolon....I heard that he is REALLY good and does a great job with client service.

It would have worked (a little anyway) -- if he'd have made the url an actual link. Google would have picked it up as an external link to his site -- which in turn would have helped his page rank infinitesimally during a websearch.
But the highest possible page rank could never overcome the atrociousness of that cover art.

Now I don't know this author at all and I don't know the illustrator at all, but I'm curious how you could call that cover art atrocious. It is very professionally and adequately done by an artist that seems to have a lot more skills and ability than the artist that did any of Robert Jordan's novels. It is very "old school" illustration. But it is at least professional.

Not sure how that's relevant, because I find most of those covers atrocious, as well.
To be perfectly honest, it looks to me like the two main figures were stolen directly from a historical, generational (and probably frontier) saga - then slapped on top of some generic fantasy elements (hooded guy with a blade, crumbling edifice,.. etc). Then an evil figure (who looks like a cross between the Crypt Keeper and The Predator) was thrown in for good measure.

I think I fall somewhere in between on the illustration. Not terrible, not great.
But I still am very leery of reading any fiction that's a kindle exclusive, especially by an unknown author.
I tried Jeremy Robinson's Beneath a few months back. Now THAT was atrocious.

Meh. That's all I have to say really. The cover isn't bad, and I do like it, but I think it could've been done a bit better. And also the summary of the book is just...meh. Doesn't sound too erribly interesting. I may give it a try if I ever find the time. I do, however, really like the title of the next book, The Hunt For Black Rock.
The Sword is still only a sword, whether it has magic or not, it knows only to bite at the whim of its wielder's arm.
