Has anyone heard if there is any word of when these two are going to get together and write the next book in that series? If ever a story needed continuation (after the way Black House ended) it would be this one...

They each talked it up at various points over the years, but by now they're both so old I doubt it'll happen.
I really enjoyed The Talisman, but loathed the narrative mode of Black House. So I'm indifferent as to it happening.
More interested in King's new Dark Tower book. Oh yes.

I know, I just saw what Roland said about it in another thread and am very interested to see where they go with it. I agree to an extent about Black House. Next to Gone With the Wind, that was one of the longest starting damn books I've ever read. It picked up towards the end though. Talismans is definetely better.
That's a shame that it might not happen. Just like a few years back there were rumors about a return to It on King's website forums, but nothing ever did (or should) happen with that.

The third book will happen, of that I have no doubt. The question is merely when.

That's good to hear that its still on the table. Just hope its sooner rather than later. No doubt huh? Did one of them say something recently about it?

I found a little blurb by a moderator on his forum saying he said in the past year that he would like to begin writing it in two years, but she thinks that with the way his schedule is looking, that it probably isn't going to happen that quickly. I don't know. It'd be great to find out what happens though. At least Terry will usually leave you waiting about a year or so on a cliffhanger, not twenty years. (totally not counting the end of the High Druid series, of course :wink

What I've learned about King is his writing mind works in a weird way. He talked about this about Roland Deschain but the same can be said of Jack Sawyer. He writes a book when the door opens to that world. It may take years for the door to open, but he can't force it open. Therefore we must wait until his mind is good and ready to open that door and show him the way.
About The Wind Through the Key Hole, I think it will be a great Dark Tower book. Unlike Calla which he had to literally force open and that's why the book sucks for the first 3/4 in my opinion, this book is being written because the door is opening for him. I can't wait. Should make for a great read and addition to the series.

He certainly is great at what he does, and its pretty cool how he gets his ideas. But about Dark Tower, its been years since I've picked up that series, so I think its time to revisit it before the new book comes out.

I would think Straub would push for a continuation of Talisman/Black House. It must sell better than any of his solo work, right?
Given a choice, though, I would prefer King write Wind Through the Keyhole.
