I think we should be looking for someone who could sing as well as look the part. I don't know whether she can act well enough but I always pictured Amy Lee as Grianne.

You're on the money DeathShroud. That's exactly who I was thinking of and I was getting ready to post and then I saw that you put her name down lol. I think she's not only beautiful but she looks really unintimidating as well. I think she can pull off an evil Isle Witch pretty easy too. She really looks the part. Kreuk has my vote.

Wait I take that back, she would only be my choice at this point as the sterotypical girl in horror movies who runs through the woods away from the killer after having sex with her already dead and mutilated boyfriend only to trip and fall after running miles and miles away just to have the killer magicaly close the gap and kill her to which I will cheer for the killer with a resounding HUZZAH X3, and then rewind it to see the funny moment all over again! *pauses to take deep breath after long rant*

I believe there was a Hallowe'en episode of Smallville where they had Lana possessed by some witch and yah...she still looked unintimidating, lol. Jessica Lowndes perhaps?(going off of looks, I haven’t seen her act). Julia Winter(the obnoxious little Veruca Salt) might be a good fit looks wise too—especially since if VOJS or HDS ever gets made she’ll be more than old enough. Personally, I’ve always wanted to see the Shannara books adapted into animated features so I spend more of my time drawing Grianne than actually trying to find someone who matches my image of her.
If Megan Fox was ever cast in anything Brooks related I might need to go back on my inhaler. That woman cannot act.

Jessica Lowndes could definitely work, going off a similar basis! Whoever it is though, I think she needs to be capable of portraying a rather disturbed/troubled character, as Grianne very much is. For this reason alone, I think we can rule out Megan Fox as a decent candidate. (The extent of her acting abilities are limited to the seductress or at best, 'girl next door'. Liv Tyler could potentially work, going off her (somewhat different) portrayal of Arwen. Zooey Deschanel is a definite no-no (she's too short after all, right?) and the others I can't really comment on.
